Dmitry Kobilkin, the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District governor, met Yamali Olympic and Paralympian athletes.
The governor emphasized that the whole Yamal watched and supported their 2016 Summer Olympics performance when giving a speech before the athletes. “Thanks you for your hard work and will to win. I am especially grateful and respectful to our Paralympian athletes. Your fellow citizens are proud of all your achievements”, Dmitry Kobilkin said.
The region governor shared his plans for the sports development with the athletes. He also told them new sports facilities are to be built in Yamali cities and towns, as well as in villages.
The Olympic athletes thanked the governor for supporting Yamali athletes in general. They shared their ideas for the Arctic region sports development with him, too.
May we remind you that that 6 Yamalies represented the Russian Federation at the 2016 Summer Olympics, while 2 female Yamali athletes represented the country in the Paralympian Games. They all arrived to the District capital the day before.
